Yay! A book deal!

A book deal has been offered. It's like the first chink in a dam, now two other publishers are thinking about it too. All that waiting (impatiently, I know) has been worth it, and it's time to relax a bit now. The money's not huge, but who knows? Maybe someone else will have a bit more to spend. Either way, more waiting, but this time I have the certainty. I am going to be published. I wish anyone out there who is also waiting...and waiting...the very best of news, because I feel relieved and excited and happy all at once.

  1. Oh that's brilliant! And more publishers interested too! That's wonderful! Now for more waiting but at least you know it's really going to happen!

    1. Thank you, Kate. I feel stunned. Whatever happens, I'll get published. Though what seems more important is that someone is going to pay me to write stories!

  2. Fab! Checking your blog for book-deal news has been my first thought when I've logged in to Blogger this past week, so 9n a small way I feel I can join in on your relief and excitement.

Really well done, and thanks for sharing your journey this far - can't wait to hear the rest of it.

    1. Thank you Teresa! Your Bridport success was inspiring to me when I was struggling with fiction (I still can't write short stories though). After next week I will know who and how much and for what. I'm very grateful for all the support you and others have given me, writing is such a lonely slog otherwise!

    1. I hope it does keep people going. One of the writers on the MA I did says the difference between an aspiring writer and a published one is largely output. The more words you write, the better chance you'll get there!

    1. Thanks Cally! I hope so...but as you say, I'm going to be published, that's the best bit. So I can keep writing and make it my job.
